Spring Brings New Connections: March at Come on UP 🌸

Hello! Come on UP Tokyo operates small, community-focused share houses where residents can enjoy international exchange. Each house has its own unique concept, offering new connections, new experiences, and a fresh way of living.

As the weather started getting warmer and a new season began, March brought plenty of fresh encounters to our houses.

We welcomed new housemates, shared meals, held house meetings, and even enjoyed some springtime events together.

Here’s a look back at what life at Come on UP was like this March!

Welcoming New Housemates with Food and Drinks

At our Yaguchinowatashi House, residents got together to welcome a new housemate.The group headed to a nearby wine bar, where both new and long-term residents could relax over food and drinks and naturally get to know each other.

Living in a share house doesn’t mean spending every moment together. Everyone has their own work, hobbies, and private time. But when someone says,

“Want to grab dinner together?”

people often naturally come together.That comfortable balance — not too close, but never too distant — is an important part of the Come on UP community.

When a House Meeting Turns into a Taco Party 🌮

Come on UP regularly holds house meetings at each property.

Residents use these meetings to talk about everyday life in the house, such as cleaning, shared facilities, utilities, and anything else that needs attention. But at Yaguchinowatashi House, this month’s meeting came with freshly made tacos!

One of the residents works as a chef, so the table was filled with homemade tortillas, salsa, and other Mexican dishes.

Of course, it wasn’t only about eating. The group also checked the local hazard map and evacuation areas together.

Sharing a meal while also thinking together about the place you call home. That is one of the unique experiences of share house living.

Your First Share House Can Start at Any Age

When people hear the words “share house,” they sometimes imagine students or people in their twenties.

But Come on UP residents come from many different backgrounds.

We have working professionals, creators, travelers, people living between multiple cities, and residents from many countries.

One resident in their 50s, who divides their time between Hokkaido and Tokyo, recently started share house life for the first time.

Before moving in, they had imagined share houses as places mainly for younger people or for those looking to save money.

Living together with housemates completely changed that image, and they are now enjoying the social side of shared living.

A share house doesn’t have to be defined by age or profession.

Sometimes, simply living alongside people with different lifestyles and values can open the door to something new.

A Springtime Hanami Party — Inside the House 🌸

One of the highlights of the month was a cherry blossom party at our Omori Sanno House.

A housemate who practices ikebana decorated the house with cherry blossoms, while another resident, a balloon artist, created colorful balloon art.

Our community manager, who is also a musician, brought music into the mix as well. The result was a very unique Come on UP-style hanami party.

Omori Sanno has also hosted international takoyaki parties in the past, where everyone cooked together. Alongside the classic octopus filling, residents experimented with cheese, sausages, and even chocolate banana.

At Come on UP, someone’s hobby, talent, or simple idea can naturally grow into an event that everyone enjoys together.

That is part of what makes each house community unique.

More Than Just a Place to Live

Coming home and having someone say, “Welcome back.” Sharing dinner once in a while. Welcoming a new housemate. Trying someone else’s cooking. Discovering a hobby or culture you had never experienced before.

Come on UP is not simply about sharing a kitchen or living room.

We want to create homes where everyone can enjoy their own independent lifestyle while still having meaningful connections with the people around them.

Spring is a season for new beginnings.
